National Implementation Service Seminars – Evidence into real world practice in Children’s Services, Creativity and Innovation in challenging times

We are pleased to invite you to participate in the forthcoming NIS Seminars:
 
'Evidence Into Real World Practice in Children's Services: Creativity and Innovation in Challenging Times'.
 
Leeds on 4th November & Birmingham on 9th November 2016.
 
These important seminars will provide an opportunity for participants to hear about the latest research findings, policy developments and local implementation of evidence interventions for children and young people in care and at risk of entering care and custody. You will be able to hear from key policy colleagues, researchers, Local Authorities and provider organisations about their experience of implementing evidence based services for looked after children, adopted children and children on the edge of care and custody. This will include discussion of the cost effectiveness of these interventions and innovative ideas for future funding. There will also be opportunity to hear the perspectives of children, young people, carers and families.
 
Key plenary speakers will include a UK Department for Education representative, Saleem Tariq (Chief Officer, Leeds City Council) and Professor David Berridge (Bristol University) at the Leeds Seminar; and Dawn Roberts (Head of Youth Offending, Birmingham City Council) and Dr Lisa Holmes (Loughborough University) at the Birmingham Seminar.
 
You will be able to participate in workshops on the range of evidence based interventions which the NIS supports, including MST and MST adaptations, RESuLT, AdOpt and KEEP training for carers.
 
There will also be the opportunity to network during the day with senior commissioners, funders and provider organisations from across the UK and Eire.
 
An early bird registration rate is available between now and 14th October there will also be a reduced rate for 3 or more people attending from one organisation.
